Punished for loving my daughter!
All seems to be going well as far as my daughter's "Princess" party dress is concerned - it's purple and its the right size!
It was agreed (between me and my then 1-year old daughter) that we only celebrate the odd number birthdays with parties and keeping to my promise, we are celebrating her 5Th birthday with a big party. The next one will be the 7, 9 etc until the biggest of them all - 21!
In the contrary though, events leading to this date have not be pleasant for me. A while back, her mother and I broke up and I have had no contact with my daughter since then. The big shock came when I had planned to spend school holidays (in June/July 2012) with my daughter - the vacation was three weeks but I was instructed to bring her back after a week!
Needless to say, I was fuming and needed to know WHY, but that did not eliminate the fact that I had to abide and send her back as instructed. So the week ended and I took her back with a confrontation that made matters worse...... I have now vowed that I will be the best dad for my daughter and love her unconditionally - but I will also ensure that she lives a fulfilled life regardless of the circumstances and conditions of my relationship with her mother.
Now we are a week away from the big day and I am pleased with what I have planned and done thus far - who said dads cant plan parties? Cake - check! Jumping castle - check! Fizzy drinks - check! Purple dress - check!
